Recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) refers to courses or subjects taken at other institutions that have equivalence to similar CIVT courses. This means that once RPL is granted, you are not required to study those modules or units.

The assessment standard for RPL is:
  • equivalency in level, content and rigour (the units are as demanding as the College's units)
  • previous studies must be less than 10 years old
  • previous studies are equivalent to the College's units and are approved for your qualification.

Applications for RPL must be submitted to the Student Centre. Strict deadlines apply.
Applications are referred to the academic staff for assessment.
