Case Rounds with Dr Steve Marsden

In these new case-based recorded webinars Dr Steve Marsden recounts clinical conundrums he has experienced and explains the treatment methods used to solve some of his most challenging cases. Dr Marsden shares his own strategies to manage common problems from a Chinese medicine perspective, including pathophysiology for each condition, appropriate formulas and other useful integrative treatments and techniques. These case rounds offer a unique experiential learning opportunity where registrants can observe the Chinese medicine master at work, sharing his own personal cases and approaches.

Case Rounds 1 - KCS – Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca - dry eye 
Dr Marsden presents two cases of KCS, a dog and a cat, demonstrating how Chinese herbal therapy can be successfully integrated with conventional care to resolve refractory cases.

Case Rounds 2 - Managing Luxating Patellae without Surgery
Dr Marsden presents three cases of luxating patella in dogs, demonstrating how a more conservative means of treatment can result in a much faster pace of improvement than with surgical management.


Case Rounds 3 - Anal Gland Problems
Dr Marsden presents three canine cases with a variety of anal gland pathologies including recurrent anal sacculitis, perianal fistulae and anal gland adenocarcinoma, all with outcomes superior to what is expected from conventional management of these conditions.

Dr Steve Marsden received his doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 1988. He has a doctorate in Naturopathic medicine, a Master's of Science in Oriental Medicine, Graduate Diplomas in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture and Diplomat status in Chinese herbology. He treats both pets and people in his Edmonton, Alberta practice. He is perhaps one of the best known and highly qualified Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine masters worldwide and is a frequent and seasoned lecturer for veterinary audiences worldwide. In 2009 he was awarded Canadian Veterinarian of the Year. In 2010 he was honored for his work as a veterinarian making a difference in BARK magazine and named Herbal Educator of the Year by AHVMA. In 2014 he released his latest textbook designed for easy use in practice, Essential Guide to Chinese Herbal Formulas.
